CBJ Election: Prop 2 doesn't pass, Thurston & Poole take School Board seats, Crane takes District 2.

Initial unofficial results are in from all 16 Juneau precincts in the 2010 municipal election.

Barbara Thurston & Kim Pool beat out Ivan Nance for the 2 School Board seats available.

Johan Dybdahl and Mary Becker who were running unopposed for Area Wide and District 1 Assembly seats respectively, both won.

Karen Crane beat out Greg Brown and Christopher Nelson for the one available District 1 Seat.

Proposition 1 for funding to renovate the Auke Bay middle school passed.

The controversial Proposition 2 to extend a temporary 1% portion of the city sales tax did not pass.

And Proposition 3 to form a Charter Commission also did not pass.

A total of 7,304 ballots were cast of 23,593 registered voters for a turnout of 31%. Final official results will be released next Tuesday.
